Theme 11 Test is tomorrow

One skill we've been practicing this theme is grammar (parts of speech), especially

-Adjectives: comparative and superlative (adding -er, -est)
-Articles (a, an, the)
-Pronouns (pages 330-331 in literacy book)

Here are links to two games to help you review:

Famous People in History

In Chapter 6, Lesson 3 of social studies today we learned about Jean Baptiste Du Sable.
Earlier this year, one group of girls did some research on him - here's their video!

Pictures from the "Hall of Governors" in Springfield Capital Building
When we go on our fieldtrip, let's look for Shadrach Bond (the first governor of Illinois)

Coming soon (hopefully) Visual Biography Videos of George Rogers Clark!

What a great way to wrap up the  "racing" theme during ISAT to help us strive for perfect attendance from all students this week.
There were also perfect attendance classroom and individual winners all week!

Everyone who came to the Lock-In Friday night also had a blast!
(Miss Liefer doesn't have any pictures of that fun-filled evening, but we all made some great memories!)

A Dictionary/Thesaurus of my very own!

Thank you so much to Miss Liefer's Great Uncle Joe in Oklahoma for sending us an incredible gift.
As part of the "Dictionary Project" each student received his/her own copy of Webster's Dictionary/Thesaurus from the Cross Timbers Rotary Club of Norman, Oklahoma.  A dictionary is an essential tool and powerful resource in education.
We really appreciate your generosity and have already started using it in our lessons.
