On this day 150 years ago, President Lincoln gave one of the most famous speeches in U.S. history.
On Nov. 19, Lincoln traveled to Gettysburg for the dedication of a battlefield cemetery there.
The speech he gave, which became known as the Gettysburg Address, was just 273 words long. (It only lasted 2 minutes)
It didn't mention slavery, the battle or even the Union army. But its remarkable language captured the reasons why the war was being fought.
