Statue of Liberty

Today is the Statue of Liberty's 125th birthday!


Did you know...
*On Oct. 28, 1886, President Grover Cleveland dedicated the Statue of Liberty, a gift from France, in New York Harbor.

*The Statue of Liberty is comprised of 31 tons of copper and 125 tons of steel. It sways up to three inches in high winds exceeding 50 miles per hour

*It’s mighty tall, measuring 305.1 feet from the ground to the tip of its torch and 111 feet tall from the statue’s heel up to the tip of the torch. The statue’s eyes are two feet, six inches wide, and the nose measures four feet, six inches. The length of the statue’s right arm — the one holding the torch — measures 42 feet.

Student Council October Report


RED RIBBON WEEK 2011     October 24th- 26th
Food Drive"We CAN be Drug Free" Bring in non-perishable food items to be donated to local food pantires (Oct. 17th - 26th)

Daily Themes (same for Zahnow and Rogers)
Monday (24th)- "I See RED When I Think of Drugs"  Wear everything red
Tuesday (25th)- "Put Drugs to Sleep" Pajama Day
Wednesday (26th)- "No Bones About It, Say No to Drugs" Wear bulldog colors, orange and black

*Special Note:  The fourth grade is combining Tuesday and Wednesday because the fourth grade zoo field trip is on Tuesday (don't want to wear Pj at the Zoo!) 
SO on Wednesday, wear Pajama bottoms and a bulldog shirt!
